House parties at Somerleyton

There are few properties anywhere in the country which can rival Somerleyton as a venue to hire for a private party.

House parties of almost all types and sizes are welcomed at Somerleyton, whether they are to celebrate a landmark birthday or anniversary or the coming together of a non-specific gathering involving friends and family.

The house is fully staffed by housekeepers, a wonderful chef and an events team who can take care of your every need and help you design the perfect long weekend break. Depending on the time of year we can serve you anything from gourmet banquets to afternoon tea, in surroundings raging from the dining room to Phyllis’s Folly.

As part of your weekend you may wish to throw a big party on the Saturday night; we can cater with marquees for up to 500 guests and up to 200 in the winter gardens though you will need a dance tent for this.

We can organise most activities depending on the time of year. These vary from waterskiing and sea fishing to clay pigeon shooting and stalking. Gentler activities such as cooking lessons with Steve our chef and retail therapy in Norwich are also available.

But perhaps best of all is being able to completely relax and enjoy the wonderful charm of Somerleyton Hall and gardens in the knowledge that it is exclusively yours for the weekend.

The hall can sleep up to 17 guests. Additional accommodation can be found in either our luxury lakeside lodges or at Fritton House, our boutique hotel, both of which are on the other side of the estate.
