Weddings at Somerleyton
Somerleyton Hall is an exceptional venue for wedding parties.
The 17th-century Jacobean manor house was given a lavish makeover by the royally-approved sculptor-turned-architect John Thomas in the 1840s.
The legacy left by Thomas, who was much favoured by Prince Albert amongst others, is a serious of sumptuous rooms which appear tailor made for exclusive yet personal weddings.
Wedding ceremonies can either be conducted in Somerleyton’s ornate ball room, with its silk crimson walling, infinity mirrors and richly moulded ceilings inlaid with gold leaf, or else in one of two locations in the fabulous winter gardens.
The reception can take place in the winter gardens, in a marquee on Atlanta’s lawn or anywhere else in the wonderful 14-acre landscaped garden which is adorned with fine specimen trees such as Monkey Puzzles, Eucalyptus and Cedars of Lebanon.
The hall can sleep up to 17 guests. Additional accommodation can be found in either our luxury lakeside lodges or at Fritton House our boutique hotel, both of which are on the other side of the estate.
Please contact Hugh or Lara if you are considering booking and would like to know more, or wish to arrange a visit to Somerleyton.
